Update on COVID-19 Legislation for the Beauty Industry
Things are improving in the world of beauty and aesthetics, with the 3-stage COVID-19 recovery plan announced last Friday. This announcement is giving us hope that we will return to serving our clients in what could be weeks instead of months.
The Tasmanian Government has announced a 'Plan to rebuild a stronger Tasmania'. The staged approach of lifting of restrictions has been carefully planned to guide us back to normal in a way that will continue to reduce the risk to the community of COVID-19.
We know there is still lot of confusion out there around our industry, so we thought it might be a good idea to clarify things for our clients as much as possible.
The current advice from https://coronavirus.tas.gov.au/families-community/roadmap-to-recovery is that with the support of Public Health Advice, we will be able to reopen our doors for beauty services from Monday 15th June.
But, before we crack the champagne, it's important to keep in mind that we have experienced first-hand that legislation can change (over the space of just hours!) We sincerely hope this will not happen and in the meantime have opened up our online booking system for beauty appointments from the 15 June, so our clients have the opportunity to plan ahead.
Just to be clear beauty treatments include: waxing services, facials (including DMK, Waterlily and Aesthetics Face Treatments) and tanning.
Quay Day Spa will not be providing Nails services in the future so we have not listed this our on our available appointments. We will be making further announcements about this on our social media pages.
There will be no relaxation body treatments, spa treatments, spa baths or saunas until the third stage of restrictions easing which, at this point in time is scheduled for the 13th July.
Of course we cannot guarantee that the Government will not change the legislation between now and then if Public Health advice changes.
But we will work hard to ensure that we provide the best service possible to our customers whilst abiding by instructions from the State and Federal Governments.
If there are any further changes that affect this, we will let you know at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime stay safe and we look forward to serving you again soon.
