How well do you really know your skin?
We hear clients all the time describe their skin care journey as a constant merry go round of trial-and-error that doesn't get any easier as they age.
The solution to this is to invest the time to really get to understand the underlying characteristics of your skin. After all we are all unique and so is our skin. There is no one size fits all approach, especially if you are prone to suffering skin from conditions.
A qualified skin therapist, is trained to take a closer look at the condition of your skin, identify and address a range of issues and provide you with an accurate pathway of care to get you off the merry go round and onto solid ground.

What is the benefit to you?
These days there are so many options to choose from, there are some amazing technologies available and some pretty impressive marketing tactics to influence your buying decisions.
You might want to go for the shiniest most impressive or even most affordable options however it's best to seek the advice of qualified therapist first, just like you would seek professional advice when undertaking a new exercise program to best suit your body, health goals and lifestyle!
Rather than a quick five-minute, once-over, in a professional skin consultation, your highly trained therapist will take the time to really get to know your skin on a deep level. They then use this information to prescribe a course of treatment tailored just for you that is both safe and effective.
Skipping this vital step, can mean that you will find it very difficult to achieve the results that you want.
What should you expect in a professional skin consultation?
A skin consultation with a qualified professional will last for around 20 minutes. We use the state-of-the-art Observ 520 skin analyser to get the most comprehensive assessment of your skin, allowing us to clearly diagnose any key areas of concern that need treating.
We charge a fee of $50 for a professional consultation, which is redeemable in products or treatments, making it well worth the investment. We can even email you a copy of your skin analysis report if you like! :)
Why is a professional skin consultation essential in determining the right products for your skin.
With the Obser 520 skin observation platform your therapist is able to closely examine any signs of pigmentation as well as vascular or sun damage that may not be visible to the naked eye. We can also examine blemishes, fine lines, dryness/sebum/moisture content in your skin, underlying elasticity and uneven skin tone in close detail.
Having a good understanding of this knowledge is essential for your therapist when making decisions on what treatments/products are best for your skin, plus it can be very interesting for you as a client also!
Being prepared before you arrive
In order to get the most value from your consultation we recommend you really think about what is it that bothers you the most about your skin and you would like to change about it.
Having these things clear in your mind before you arrive, means you will be able to better communicate with your therapist what results you are aiming for. It is also important to consider the level of commitment you are prepared to make, financially and your time so that your therapist can consider your boundaries as part of the planning process.

During the consultation
Your therapist will always make you feel comfortable and at ease, giving you the opportunity to explain your concerns at the beginning of the consultation. They will then perform the assessment of your skin using the Observ imaging software before discussing your skin’s current condition with you.
They will then design a treatment plan based on your individual requirements, explaining what sort of results you can realistically expect to see.
We will normally take a ‘before’ photo, allowing you to look back at your progress at the end of your treatment. Our Skin Technicians work with DMK and are all highly qualified dermal professionals, having undertaken in-depth training on the science of skin to be able to deliver real results. On top of their qualifications, they are required to undergo continual clinical training DMK to keep their skills at the highest level possible.
