Create your own Summer Smoothie!

After a well celebrated holiday season, we are in need of a Summer Detox!
We have picked the brains of our spa Naturopath, Maria Jude, to create a delicious and nutritious, simple morning ritual!
Green smoothies are a simple combination of 1 cup of fresh leafy greens (eg: spinach, kale, parsley, bok choy...), 1 cup fresh or frozen fruit (banana, mango, berries, avocado, apple, grapes, pineapple...) and 1 cup of liquid base (water, coconut water or milk, almond milk, yoghurt..)
Tips & Tricks
Add some ice if you are wanting to keep your smoothie chilled for longer!
Try boosting your smoothie with ginger root, cacao, mint, cinnamon, tumeric or coconut oil for extra oomph!
Blending colourful fruits will make your smoothie more appealing!
Cut your fruit into small pieces and pop in the freezer the night before, this will make your smoothie chilled and creamy! DELICIOUS!
One of our favourite combinations is;
1 cup of spinach
1/3 cup of Avocado
1/3 cup of Apple
1/3 cup of banana
1 cup of coconut water
1/2 cup of ice
1 cube of ginger root
Simply blend it all together and enjoy!
